  • Measurements

Measuring your head accurately is crucial for creating a custom wig that fits perfectly. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to measure your head for wig making:

What You’ll Need:

  • A soft measuring tape (like the kind used in sewing)
  • A pen and paper to note down measurements
  • A mirror (optional, but helpful)

Steps to Measure:

  • Circumference:

    • Place the measuring tape around the widest part of your head.
    • Start at your forehead, wrap the tape around the back of your head, and return to the starting point at your forehead.
    • Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight. Record this measurement.
  • Front to Nape:

    • Place the tape at your hairline in the front (forehead) and measure straight back to the nape of your neck (where your neck meets your skull).
    • This will give you the length needed for the wig cap. Write down this measurement.
  • Ear to Ear:

    • Measure from the top of one ear, across the top of your head, to the top of the other ear.
    • This measurement ensures the wig will fit comfortably around your ears. Record it.
  • Temple to Temple:

    • Measure from the temple on one side of your head to the temple on the other side, just above the ears.
    • This helps in ensuring a good fit across the forehead and temples. Write this measurement down.
  • Nape Width:

    • Measure the width of the nape of your neck from one side to the other, just below the occipital bone.
    • This is important for securing the wig at the nape. Record this measurement.

Tips:

  • Double Check: It’s a good idea to double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy. Always add 1cm to each measurement.
  • Take Your Time: Don’t rush through the measuring process; taking your time can help prevent errors.
  • Ask for Help: If possible, have someone assist you in taking the measurements for better accuracy or book a consultation with us for professional assistance.

6. How long will my wigs and extensions last?

The lifespan of wigs and extensions can vary significantly based on several factors, including the quality of the hair, how well they are cared for, and the type of wear they experience. We provide high-quality wigs and extensions to ensure they to last longer. The bundles can be worn 4+ years with proper care and maintenance.

  • Regular maintenance, including washing, conditioning, and proper storage, can significantly extend the life of your wigs and extensions.
  • Avoid excessive heat styling and chemical treatments, as they can damage the hair.
  • Wigs and extensions that are worn daily may wear out faster than those worn occasionally.
  • The method of application can also impact longevity. For example:
    • Tape-ins and Microlinks: Generally last 6 to 8 weeks before needing maintenance.
    • Clip-ins: Can last longer if removed and stored properly after each use.
    • Lace:

Frequently worn lace frontals can indeed start showing signs of wear, including developing bald spots, typically within 3 to 6 months of regular use. Here are some additional details regarding this issue:

      1. Friction: Continuous rubbing against hair or head coverings can cause the lace to wear down, leading to thinning and bald spots.
      2. Improper Removal: If a lace frontal is not removed carefully, it can cause damage to both the lace and the hair strands.
      3. Product Buildup: Hair products can accumulate on the lace, making it more prone to damage and wear over time.
      4. Heat Exposure: Frequent styling with heat tools can weaken the lace and hair, leading to breakage.

      Tips to Prevent Bald Spots

      • Rotate Usage: If possible, alternate between different frontals to reduce wear on any single unit.
      • Gentle Handling: Be careful when brushing, styling, or removing the frontal to minimize stress on the lace.
      • Regular Maintenance: Clean the lace regularly to prevent product buildup and maintain its elasticity.
      • Avoid Excessive Tension: When applying or styling, avoid pulling too tightly on the lace, as this can lead to premature wear.
      • Lace replacement: Replace your lace within 3-6 months of daily use.
  • Exposure to sun, humidity, and pollution can also affect the lifespan of your wigs and extensions. Protect them when necessary to maintain their quality.
  • Always follow our care instructions for the best results, and consider consulting with us for maintenance tips and guidance tailored to your specific products.
